The New Waterford, NS based Madame Brown formed with a clear goal, to make music that had hips; music which leaves you with no choice but to dance. The Madame Brown sound is a hybrid of modern rock, trance and post-punk/nu-disco rhythms coloured and driven by soaring, psychedelic guitars and funky, jazz inflected keyboards which fuse together to form a wall of sound to move the body. The band's rich and organic sonic textures are accompanied by introspective, observational lyrics with subject matter ranging from everyday relationships and insecurities to deep reflections on the current state of today's world.
The extremely high energy, feel good, improvisational and often times rave-party atmosphere of Madame Brown's stage show quickly made the band appealing to 'jam band' fans as well as a college aged, club frequenting audience. The band's penchant for sing-a-long-able choruses and a high level of crowd participation has helped them garner support from a more traditional audience, transplanting the feel of an 'everybody knows each other east coast kitchen party' into nightclubs and other live venues.
Madame Brown have quickly established themselves as zealous live performers with close to 100 live appearances in the last 18 months. Madame Brown have taken their high energy live show through the Maritimes on several occasions including a headlining spot at Sydney, NS's annual independent music festival Gobblefest, a New Year's Eve performance at The Gothic Arches in Saint John, NB, two headlining spots at Springhill, NS's Biggest Little Party In The Universe ('06 and '07), The Canada Day Countdown in Market Square in Saint John, NB as well as showcasing at Music Nova Scotia's Makin' Music in 2007. In September 2007 Madame Brown completed their first tour of Ontario/Quebec and plan to return in both the spring and fall of 2008.

Hi Madame Brown, How it passes there and back again like a tear drop glistening in moonlight. If I could have just one wish, it would be to wake up to your songs in the morning. A starfish's lifelong hallucinations of gelatin pools and of actuaries floating upon the foam and reciprocal ohm. Your tears evoke a taste as memorable as honey. Torrent vibrations cling to your skin and force you to consider relations with the perils of your eyelashes torturing my libido. You have not yet reached the height of your creativity. Come, let me suckle your fingers that I may absorb and lose myself in the wise and beautiful starlight that is you. You are dressed with filaments and people take pains to make you fully incandescent this evening. Your beauty is equal to the smoothness of a polished gem. Imagine you meander through love as a river delta contemplating levitation. As the bliss slowly rises in my incandescent eluxulator, your mere presence has a euphoric effect upon me. You turn the atmosphere ablaze with currents of sweet ethylene when you smile.
