Hi.I'm Martin from Manchester UK..I play Bass and a bit of guitar and love rock n roll (50's, Chuck berry,Johnny Burnett,Jerry Lee lewis,Ricky Nelson etc etc..) Old style rhythm and blues,blues,motown...massive Beatles fan too!!! They're just my ultimate heroes..Love The Stones,Kinks..loads of 60's and New Wave/Punk from the 70's too..pretty eclectic in my tastes but you just cant beat getting an audience going with driving rock n roll!
The songs above reflect my love of songwriting, but this is only a hobby..you can see more on my website www.madcatrecords.com but, again,i do it just for a laugh..After more gigs than you can shake a stick at,i've had a break from live work, but looking to get back into things...give us a shout if you need an experienced fun loving bass player who wants to get North West audiences dancing again!
Martin,January 2009..
Update..I now have a new covers band Vintage Express!! Feel free to listen to some tracks at www.vintageexpress.co.uk!
congrats on the new band, sounds like it'll be a right blast! haven't checked out the music yet, but i will. i can't wait to hear all about how the shows go.
Hey Marti, long time no chat! What's goin on over there in the UK? Are you playing regular gigs with the band these days? I lost one of my bunnies (she was elderly) but got a new one. Other than the arthritis kickin my butt, nothing much is different here in sunny warm Arizona.
Hi Martin, Ill be over in Manchester in august it would be super to see you, silke and rene are coming as well for a gig. Its around august. Best for you, Shawn
Hi again and many thanks for your nice comment. I am pleased you like my site and that you read my profile, often wonder if people do:)). Yes, i was friendly with Paul when i was younger and have since become friends with many people in the music world, mainly through my husbands work, though he has now retired. I have been very lucky in the music field. As you saw, i am however, a massive Daryl Hall fan, and i have now met Daryl twice and "no" i did not have my husband's help in meeting him, lol, the first time i met him, i literally walked straight into him in Manchester City centre whilst out shopping!. I suppose the real "Manc" in this family is my son, as my husband was born in Cheshire and i come from Saddleworth and it was "work" that brought us here, though we have been here quite a long time now. You have a great weekend when it comes and keep warm as i think we have strong winds forcast for the weekend!. Take care, With Love, Trish, x~~~x.
Hi and welcome to my site and nice to meet you. My site is a music one only - most types and from all over the world, please read my profile and enjoy. I really like your music, i have listened to nearly all the songs on your site and i must say i do like "Just you and Me", i wish you much success:). I also love the fact that you come from my home City as well, i live 6 miles East of the City Centre going towards The Pennines. Some great music has and still does come out of Manchester and i am always pleased to hear new bands, solo artists from anywhere, but especially Manchester. Please feel free to post a comment on my site when you have a new song etc., or just to say "hello". HOWEVER, I MUST ADD MY SITE DOES NOT ACCEPT FAN SITES/STREET TEAMS ETC., Now have a great 2009, Take care, With Love, Trish, x~~~~x.
happy New Year to you, Adam, and my sweet Anna. I promise to send those goodies! Light & Love, Health & Happiness, and a trip over the pond this year! love, Linda
You are only too welcome for the card and concert. It was indeed all my pleasure and I'm just so glad to have met you. Definitely another meet up is due, and so far it's looking like I'll be over in late August/ early September. I hope you and Anna have a most excellent Chrimble! I'll be at the Rose Parade on New Years, hopefully it will be fun.
