Maddie Georgi is a talented and versatile 17-year old singer/songwriter who performs genres from country, pop, rock, blues, jazz to musical theatre. Over the past five years, she has performed for audiences as intimate as 25 to audiences as large as 40,000 at various events including the Three Rivers Arts Festival, the Three Rivers Regatta, and Johnstown's Flood City Music Festival. Her original song "Gone Away Again" was selected out of more than 60,000 submissions to be one of 64 finalists in the 2008 national CMT Music City Madness contest. After six rounds of online voting, she was chosen as the contest's first runner-up.
In addition to her normal repetoire, Maddie loves to honor her country with the singing of the National Anthem and has been asked to do so at many events including: WPIAL Basketball Championships, University of Pittsburgh Basketball Games, Pittsburgh Pirates Games at PNC Park and most recently she was invited to sing at the Pittsburgh Steelers' first home game against the Arizona Cardinals this past August!
She found her love of singing through musical theatre and as a senior in high school, she looks forward to the school's musical every year. As Pittsburgh Post Gazette's "Young Pittsburghers to Watch in 2009", Maddie has received many accolades and awards for her performances including a Gene Kelly nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In 2007, Maddie was thrilled to win the Kean Idol title. It was the first time a contestant won both the Audience Favorite Award, as well as the Judge’s Choice Award. She won the contest and the hearts of the audience with a song she wrote for her autistic brother, Jake. The song is called "Take My Hand" and it has raised thousands of dollars for local autism programs. The positive feedback she has received about the song has inspired Maddie to keep writing, playing, and singing.
Maddie is passionate about raising awareness for autism and other related disabilities and has performed at various fundraisers including autism walks in Pa. and Ohio, Mt. Lebanon’s Ultra Party and at the Hard Rock Cafe Pittsburgh for the Rock for Autism benefit. Maddie is also interested in raising money for breast cancer research because she has two aunts who are survivors.
Today Maddie enjoys performing all over Western PA--whether as a solo artist, with her partner Eric George on djembe, or with a full band. She recently released her first EP at a packed Hard Rock Cafe and is already working on new material for her first full CD.
Here are some fun facts about Maddie:
♥ her favorite color is Tiffany Blue (the color of a Tiffany & Co. box) and her entire room is painted that color!
♥ her favorite food in the world is probably pierogies. (spoken like a true Pittsburgher!)
♥ she is excited to direct her High School's drama club play this year!
♥ she loves to read. especially books by Jodi Piccoult and Nichoas Sparks.
♥ Maddie can't whistle. at all. seriously :(
♥ she is probably the least athletically inclined person you will ever meet and she tends to break a bone everytime she tries a new sport.
♥ she writes her own songs and spends a lot of time writing every night.
♥ she loves shopping, getting dressed up, and going out with her friends.
Hey Maddie Just voted for you for New York Songwriter Circle Songwriter Award. You can always count on me to vote for you in any contest. Have a great week and good luck in the contest. Steve
Good luck in the young songwriters contest. I am, of course, going to vote for you. :)
My deadlines just passed for all of my college applications so yours are probably coming up too. How are you doing on them? I am really excited/nervous for the letters to come. I am counting down the days after I have sent everything in. I am just excited. So I won't babble. But...I was just wondering how you're doing on yours.
Sorry for the delay in the message. Hope you don’t mind…
When we truly let go of past hurts, hang-ups and disappointments and choose to live in the moment, in the now, in the PRESENT, life truly can be a GIFT.
Hope you liked this one. :)
Also, if you like these, shoot me comments letting me know, join me on my Facebook page and when I send you a link to my website once it gets finished next week, be sure to go it and sign up and I’ll send these to you there as well. Take care

I have seven schools that I have either put applications in or they are almost ready for submission. They are Azusa Pacific University, Chapman University, Concordia University, Hope International University, Marymount College, Otis College of Art and Design, and Whittier College. They are all in the Los Angeles area. I'm so excited. Where are you applying? Ooh yay. I can't wait to hear new songs. Is Ben a singer with a music myspace? I LOVE listening to artists I have never heard before.
Things are going so good right now. I am applying to colleges(which makes me happy. It's about time.) *crosses fingers that I get accepted at one or two. How are things going for you? School has started so you're probably super busy. But you have a new song up. It's kind of a new sound(at least to me) and I really like it. :D
Hey there! I know it's way late, but I wanted to thank you for performing at the North Hills Relay For Life. Also, best of luck with everything! You're gonna be great!
