Black 47 Tattoo is named after the great Irish potato famine of 1847 which brought many Irish immigrants to America. It is also the first Tattoo shop in rosedale(bakersfield) and is dedicated to the tradition and art of Tattooing. We are not just another shop adding to the mob of shops in Bakersfield. Black 47 is comprised of artists who have made it their lifelong goal to destroy the stigma of tattooing while elevating the traditions that have made this craft an artform. We have compiled a group of artists who are trying to reach the highest level of Tattooing and artistic expression possible while never forgetting the history of this ancient obsession. We do not claim to be the greatest, we are attempting to educate and satisfy every client with every tattoo we create. This craft is much more than a TV cliche, its our lives and who ever we share it with is part of our family.
