The question “How did you come up with ‘Madelyn’ as a band name?” has come up several times since the bands formation in 2004. Truth be told, the band hasn’t ever settled on an answer. It was more the like the name Madelyn settled on them. It’s easy to speculate that some girl by that name shattered one of the band member’s lives but in all their collective years none of them have ever known a Madelyn. Therein which may lie the answer: Madelyn was a name that became anything the band wanted it to be. Be it by sound, significance, or even a message. The band could use a name to create a completely real and yet unreal person at the same time.
Over the course of 5 years Madelyn has been relentless at writing and playing as many shows as possible. The band toured the east coast and midwest United States 3 times over the course of 2004 and 2005. They also gained recognition in 2006 when the performed in the Van’s Warped Tour. The band also was voted on to play the Taste of Chaos Tour through a Myspace.com competition for two consecutive years (2006-2007). Late 2007 and 2008 saw the band playing with national touring acts such as Cartel and Madina Lake and playing in Hawaii and New York City for the cancer awareness foundation, Life Rocks. Madelyn also was the headlining act for the Rock Fest in Pensacola, FL which featured over 100 bands from the southeastern United States in 2008.
The band released their first EP in the summer of 2004 and quickly followed that up with another release in the winter of 2005. Wanting to make strides with their sound the band ended up working with current member to be Andrew Bolooki during the summer of 2005 to release the “Dreamer’s, Inc.” EP. The band wanted to redefine them selves with this recording and spent close to 4 months laying the foundation of what their sound has become today. Off the efforts of this recording the band garnered the recognition of Universal/Republic recording artist Sahaj Ticotin (singer/songwriter/producer from the band RA) and famous rock producer Bob Marlette. Sahaj on an impulse emailed the band and shortly thereafter found himself in Ft. Lauderdale, FL writing and recording new material with them. “I listened to thirty seconds of one song,” recounts Sahaj, “and knew I wanted to work with this band.”
Thus began a new chapter for Madelyn and the overall sound for the band was finally found. In 2006 the band released a 6 song recording entitled the “Monday Girl” EP. It was their most successful release to date. The title track “Monday Girl” and the tracks “Mind Over Me” and “Say Hello” became instant hits amongst the groups growing fan base. It was a step away from the bands conceptual sound but one the band found themselves clinging to because of the obvious fact that in a world of big names and bright lights that band finally had an identity. Madelyn continued to demo and write new material over the next year and a half in hopes to release a full length album. That goal came to fruition when the band reconnected with Sahaj Ticotin in the fall of 2008 and tracked new material into the beginning of 2009. The band also co-wrote with Universal/Cash Money recording artist Kevin Rudolf and used their efforts for a track on the band‘s latest effort “Neon Noise“. Legendary producer/engineer Mike Barbiero also loved the band so much that he mixed a song for free recognizing the bands’ promise.
“Neon Noise” is strong from beginning to end, without any filler. Each track allows the listener to truly understand the band’s identity both sonically and it’s overall entertaining and simply fun impression that “Neon Noise” exhibits. Madelyn is poised to break through conventional means of popular recognition and plans to make a permanent place bouncing off the wall in your head for a long time to come.

Preparation for Christ's return,
Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. MARK 13:33-34 (KJV)
That we may not be overcome, what are we told to do?
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. MATTHEW 26:41 (KJV)
