Madfishmonger's Interests
|
| General | We take a natural interest in novelties, but it is against nature to take an interest in familiar things. - Mark Twain | | Music | Ah, that shows you the power of music, that magician of magician, who lifts his wand and says his mysterious word and all things real pass away and the phantoms of your mind walk before you clothed in flesh. -Mark Twain

Just a sample. | | Movies | ...the common eye sees only the outside of things, and judges by that, but the seeing eye pierces through and reads the heart and the soul, finding there capacities which the outside didn't indicate or promise, and which the other kind couldn't detect. - Mark Twain | | Television | The self taught man seldom knows anything accurately, and he does not know a tenth as much as he could have known if he had worked under teachers, and besides, he brags, and is the means of fooling other thoughtless people into going and doing as he himself has done. -Mark Twain | | Books | Mark Twain, George MacDonald, Joseph Conrad, Douglas Adams, Edgar Allen Poe, Homer, Lucy Maude Montgomory, Clive Barker, Robert Anton Wilson, Timothy Leary, Edward Gorey, JRR Tolkein, JK Rowling, CG Jung, Thomas DeQuincey, Thomas Love Peacock, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Ambrose Bierce, George RR Martin, Spider Robinson, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Lewis Carroll, Cervantes, Geoffrey Chaucer, Samuel Johnson, William Makepeace Thackeray, Di Dante Alighieri, Oscar Wilde, Beatrix Potter, Rene Descartes, Alexandre Dumas, TS Eliot, William Shakespeare, Robert Louis Stevenson, Mary Wollstonecroft Shelley, Poppy Z Brite, Bram Stoker, Walter Hilton, Sir Francis Bacon, Eliphas Levi, Jules Verne, Charles Dickens, Aesop, Hans Christian Anderson, The Brothers Grimm, Niccolo Machiavelli, Plato, Friedrich Nietzsche, Lord Byron, Petronius, Voltaire... | | Heroes | John Lennon, Mark Twain, Sherlock Holmes, anyone who makes a living creatively. |

Madfishmonger's Blurbs |
About me:
I've got very eclectic tastes in just about everything, I love books, art, music, movies, dancing, bike riding and running around in the woods. I'm a fighting member of the Common Sense Revolution, and aim to destroy ignorance, apathy and other such evolution-stalling business. I believe strongly in sustainable development, corporate and personal ecological and social responsibility, and take a workable, common-sense approach to these. I'm a feminist, but not a "feminazi". Equality means respecting our differences and treating all people as persons.
Despite all this, I am still fun and open, and can be found walking on walls, climbing trees, dancing til 6am, sewing, doodling, hanging out or riding around. I also love to cook. Food is awesome, and not worth getting so upset when someone else has different ideas about it. I appreciate the freedoms and responsibilities I'm entitled to in my lifestyle. I try to appreciate the moments I'm in and live in the present, which isn't always easy.
