MAD ICE BIOGRAPHY

Mad Ice is a multiple talented and charismatic young artist who has become loved and appreciated performer on both African and European music stages.This is not however a surprise to those who knew his talent already from those years he became one of the top artists in East Africa. Born in Uganda 1980 he started his career as a teenager by performing ragamuffin in various talent shows and singing cover music in hotels while composing his own songs at the same time.
Mad Ice got more training for his singing under Canadian music instructor Corry Moriarty and sound engineer Richard Mloka in Tanzania and finally started to record his debut album with a Finnish producer Miikka Kari. His hard work got rewarded when he saw his dream come true after releasing his first song "Wanadamu" to radio stations in East Africa year 2002 and it made an impact. The debut album "Baby Gal" was released 2003 and its title song became one of the biggest 1 hit songs of all times in East Africa staying on top of the charts for months if not years.
In 2004 Mad Ice launched his music in Finland and European music stages where he now regularly performs with his Finnish band. He released two albums in Europe: "Mad Ice" (2005) and "Maneno" (2007) which features also Mad Ice's second major 1 East African hit song "Wange" and loved Afro-groove version of "Malaika", one of the most known traditional songs in Africa. Mad Ice can now be found on play lists not only on African but also on several European radio stations and as a talented songwriter, Mad Ice was selected into semifinals in the International Songwriting Competition 2007 in USA with his beautiful single "Nionyeshe njia" (Show me the Way).
It is impossible to really categorize Mad Ice's music. His unique mix of Afro-groove, Pop and Soul combined to energetic and cheerful personality leaves no person cold on his live performances. This exceptional talent with his Finnish band is well noticed on building bridges between different ethnic groups. In those means he has done in Finland what nobody believed is possible. In a country of rock and heavy metal Mad Ice is singing in kiswahili, luganda and english and with his band Mad Ice is grooving and rocking on both Pop/Rock and World Music stages and is loved, appreciated by any audience.
