Who I'd like to meet:

"The Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act" is back on the table The Jackie Rickert Medical Marijuana Act is likely to be introduced in September. Call your legislators!!!!

In the 2007-2008 session, State Representatives Frank Boyle (D-Superior) and Mark Pocan (D-Madison) introduced the "The Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act" seeking to protect Wisconsin Medical Marijuana patients from State prosecution.

Ten years ago in September 1997, Rickert led 15 medical marijuana patients on a 210-mile wheelchair "Journey for Justice" from Mondovi to Madison, which reached the Capitol on Sept. 18, 1997. The 1997 Journey for Justice was dedicated to the memory of Jacki's late physician, William E. Wright, of Mondovi, who gained approval for her participation in a federal medical marijuana program only to see George Bush the elder close it to new patients in 1992.

Please Contact your Assembly Representative and State Senator, and ask them support medical cannabis. To contact your state legislators, call the State Legislative Hotline Toll-free at: 1-800-362-9472. You can send a pre-written letter via this link, but personal letters or phone calls are better.

      Dear WISCONSIN fRIENDS,
Here in Wisconsin we have a small window of opportunity to reclaim the public's right to use whatever medications, either natural or prerscribed in the maintenance of their health.
I'm talking about the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act. Cannibas
hemp has been used as a medicine for centuries. Eli Lilly had many preparations made from hemp that's recorded in their pharmacopeia in the 1920's. The DEA's Law Judge issued a statement that 'In it's natural state, marijuana is the most therapeutically active substance known to man.".
Many who are like myself and have neuromuscular ailments are prescribed drugs that are far more harmful to us than the symptoms
we are trying to get rid of. For myself it's about not having my kidney's shut down from trying to stop muscle spasms and ending the nerve pains that run down my legs that no drug prescribed by any doctor can ease.
Ideally,as a Constitutional Right,we should be able to use any product that has a positive effect on our individual health. Cannibas
hemp whether smoked, eaten or vaporized can do that for millions of patients and that right of choice should be ours, not lawmakers.
But we find ourselves needing the aide of Lawmakers to get that right returned to us.
      If you support a person's right to use cannibas hemp or use it yourself, PLEASE contact you local Senator and State Representitive at;
    http://www.legis.state.wi.us
and tell them to make the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act a law.  Thank-you

  • Sep 22 2009 7:15 PM

Hello there. I make and sell hemp jewlery and I was just wondering if there are vendor opportunities at the festival next weekend? If so, is there a fee I have to pay? I know it's kind of late to ask but I planned on going to the festival whether I'm able to sell my stuff or not.
    Thanks
    Peace and Love

    About this page:
I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there are a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There are also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D
