MAGDA MENDES, born in the post-revolutionary LISBOA, singing and playing traditional Portuguese music from early age.
Living in Holland since 2002 after having worked as a Marine Biologist, she finished her studies at Codarts Conservatory (Rotterdam) in 2006.
In the last years she worked with different bands, mainly directed at Brazilian Jazz, but also with new music styles so much present in the rich “cultural soup “of the dutch musical scene. Grateful for the enriching experience, she feels now closer to her own musical identity, to her VOICE, and inspired by that mix shaping her LIFE. She enjoys singing FADO as well as the SAMBA, sailing between worlds separated by OCEANS but very close in the HEART.
