Sounds Like
What we think we sound like is probably nothing like what it sounds like to you, but the closest comparisons would be the Alan Parsons Project, Moody Blues, and Klaatu. Maybe a smooth cauldron of Progressive Pop...

MagellanMusic has been around so long that it isn’t easy presenting a brief background. There are so many stories, so many events, and so many anecdotes that we’d need an entire evening to make fun of such madness, but to make it nice and simple, it was 1975 when we recorded our first album and thirty years later we’re still at it. And thirty years for an Indie band isn't bad. It has actually allowed us to maintain the medicines necessary to curb the insanity for staying in this business for so long. (Insert laughter here) With all this in mind, some compare us to Frankenstein’s monster because we refuse to die, and others call us Methuselah because we don’t know how to die. That’s good! But, the bottom line is that the music is more worthwhile now than ever thanks to the smiles it brings to so many faces...
On this site we use the genres “Rock”, “Pop” and "Progressive" because it’s the only way to be somewhat accurate. It was Prog Rock that started it all, but we never stayed with one particular style. If we could present our catalog you would also hear Blues, Ballads, Folk, Comedy, Electronica, even Spoken Word. To us it always seemed extremely limiting to be pigeon-holed into one genre, so we didn’t, and still don’t.
As is always the case with music, some will like it, others won’t, but that’s okay because that’s what music is all about. When you find something you like, keep it! If you don’t, keep looking because there are many great artists out there. But most of all, a hearty thanks to those who dig MagellanMusic!
