Maggie Baird has been writing songs for most of her life. Her musical style reflects a range of influences: from her childhood growing up in a small town in Colorado, to years living in a railroad apartment in Manhattan, to raising a family with her husband of twenty+ years in North East Los Angeles.
Her latest song THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, looks at the country's current economic crisis through the eyes of a family in the midst of it. The song grew out of her own family's struggles and the stories of friends and neighbors. It will be included in her latest project which should be completed in early 2008.
Her first album MY FATHER'S DAUGHTER was a collection of songs in various styles recorded as a love letter to her father who passed away just as it was completed. Those songs are currently being re-mixed for re-release and will be available again soon.
