Margaret is a highly trained singer and performer who loves country music and is a big fan of Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash. She graduated from Mississippi University For Women, where she earned her B.A. in General Music with an emphasis in Commercial Music. She is currently writing songs and playing out with her partner, Randy Santiman (On The Run Productions) . Always the perfectionist, she works hard at improving her craft with practice and vocal coaching.
Margaret started singing in the womb, according to her mother. She
grew up in Gulfport, Mississippi and developed a deep love for music and theatre. Throughout her school years she involved herself in many choral groups and drama clubs. In high school, she played the role of Madam Peep in P. D. Q. Bach's Oedipus Tex, and Hermia in Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream. She was also in the school choir and was a cheerleader.
In junior college, she was part of both concert and show choirs. Both choirs were invited to perform at Disney World in Orlando, though the show choir traveled all over the Southeast. She was also heavily involved in the theatre department, playing Cinderella in Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, and Clairee in Steel Magnolias. She also took small acting parts with a traveling troupe known as the Perk Players.
Margaret was very active in the performing arts at Mississippi University For Women. She belonged to University Chorus, Chorale, Octet, Jazz Group, and New Horizon. She was also invited to act as the assistant to Dr. Cherry Dunn, the director of the Columbus Girlchoir and a highly respected professor at Mississippi University for Women. Additionally, she was chosen to play the part of one of the sassy Lady Birds in MUW's adaptation of the Broadway musical A Year with Frog and Toad.
