InfluencesLou Reed, Neil Young, Chrissy Hynde, Pete Townshend, Syd Barrett, Robert Fripp, DNA, Brian Eno, David Bowie, Uncle Jim, Marc Ribot, Tom Waits, The Flaming Lips, Nels Cline, The Beatles, CAN...and a whole bunch more. Here's what's been playing at Scooter Sound:
Sounds Like" Unselfconscious, raw and melancholy: Maggie's back and she's flying in on one engine emotionally. She's got a habit of producing late-night nuggets of lo-fi precious, but there's a sense of humour behind most of them. Granted, it's concealed behind a scary facade, but it's there.    About Maggie Osterberg

Welcome to Maggiepedia!

Maggie Osterberg is an American guitar player, keyboardist, and singer-songwriter. Her first album Bent, Not Broken, was released in July, 2005, and is available at the iTunes Music Store. Her work ranges from electronica and avant-garde to alt-rock, indie pop, and psychedelia.

Maggie was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and now lives in Lincoln, after a number of years in the Twin Cities and San Francisco. Maggie attended Grinnell College, Kearny State College, and Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and holds a bachelor's degree in Theatre from Hamline University.

Fans have compared her guitar playing to Nels Cline and Robert Quine, with an overall musical style that encompasses the world of the Velvet Underground, Television, Talking Heads, and kraut-rockers Can. Maggie is a big fan of Frank Zappa, Neil Young, and Tom Waits.

When she's not making or listening to music, Maggie enjoys photography, reading, walking, and cats. Many of her photos can be found on Flickr, and her recent reading includes Michael Pollan's The Omnivore's Dilemma, Bill Buford's Heat, and Roger Welsch's My Nebraska.

Among her recommendations for writing on music are Simon Reynolds' Rip it Up and Start Again: Postpunk 1978-1984, Clinton Heylin's From the Velvets to the Voidoids: A Pre-Punk History for a Post-Punk World, and Jim DeRogatis' Staring at Sound: The True Story of Oklahoma's Fabulous Flaming Lips.

Thanks Maggie 'O'! It was a whirlwind, I was just there a week.....I even sang a solo at the funeral.......
I was always too scared to do a solo in high school.
It went well.....had a chance to see Dan
so that was unexpected.....Take care!
