Just me at the moment... looking for some people to collaborate with!
Influences
All About Eve, Tori Amos, Suzanne Vega, Emilliana Torrini, Kate Rusby, Dick Gaughan, Roger Wilson, Kristina Olsen, Chilli Peppers, Counting Crows, Pooka, Martyn Joseph, Nanci Griffith, Elbow, Altan, Michelle Branch, Counting Crows, Rory McLeod, Beth Orton, and lots of people I have found on here, and have subsequently pestered into being my friends!
Sounds Like
Not sure what I sound like, but my songs have been compared to Suzanne Vega & All About Eve.
Just a space to upload some sounds... either dodgy home recorded on ancient reel 2 reel, or even dodgier midi bleeps, I'm afraid!
These are definitely works in progress, and are by no means finished / polished!
Have been writing music & tunes since I was a sprog, and taught myself guitar in my teens. Been in a few bands, studied music composition & electro-acoustic music at Uni, and written a couple of things for theatre.
Have done a few gigs, and played at lots of folk clubs, but get stage fright like you wouldn't believe.
I wish I had a confident, sassy attitude. It certainly isn't coming with age!!
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
