UPDATE:
Some of you may already have heard, but Magic For Darfur will be putting out a book with contributions from some of the bigger names in magic. This has been a project I have been working on since the summer and it is finally coming together.
The book will be a compilation of original effects from bigger named magicians. These magicians are Michael Ammar, Harry Lorayne, Lee Asher, David Regal, Daniel Madison, Steve Dusheck, PK Son, and many more.

It was only 2 years ago that Mitchell Stafiej didn't know where Darfur was on a map for the life of himself, but through long and hard reading and learning he knew that something has to be done about the genocide in Darfur. Six months ago Mitchell Stafiej decided that he wanted to help as much as he could with the aid in Darfur. Mitchell Stafiej did this by raising money and donating it to www.savedarfur.org. This, however, wasn't enough. He wanted to use my precious art of magic to help with the aid, and the idea of Magic for Darfur came to mind. To try and organize world wide fundraisers and events to raise money for the aid would be extraordinary to say the least.
Magic for Darfur is a non profit organization dedicated to offering aid to the citizens of Darfur. Mitchell Stafiej obviously hopes to start off small, with local fund raisers, but as the months and years go by, he hopes that this organization will grow within the magic community to raise awareness about the crisis and ultimately aid with the crisis. It isn't impossible to possibly have a few of the members from the organization to one day take a trip to Sudan to aid physically. This will obviously be in the long run.
He hopes that you all learn something from this site, and will gain a hightened awareness of the events taking place in Darfur. With a little bit of your help we can make a large impact on the lives of Darfur's desparate citizens.
ABOUT DARFUR:
The crisis in Darfur presents the largest humanitarian disaster since the Rwanda genocide in 1994. Over 800,000 men, women, and children have been killed, and that number is only getting bigger. Every day the people of Darfur are systematically killed and raped for no apparent reason. The people of Darfur cannot turn to their own government as their government supports the groups committing these atrocities. Not only does the government support these groups, but they are supplying them with weapons and ammunition. The people of Darfur must turn to other aid, but as the west turns their back on these people, they are left alone to die.
Now, you can help with the aid of Darfur using your skills in the art of magic. Fund raisers will be set up around the world to help raise money for aid in Darfur. As one, we magicians will speak out against the crime on humanity in Darfur, and use our art to help bring peace back to their land.
