Oh yes...celebration day...Magnetophone's Matt (recording as Veil) has released the first 12" record on his new label Test Conditions. Both the 12" vinyl and download are available right now.
And one last very important message: a massive big up to all the soldiers who bought the download before I told anyone it was there...massive respect and thank you.

18:02:08 **TEST CONDITIONS** New Record Label
Matt is in the process of constructing a record label called Test Conditions which will operate at the furthest reaches of dubstep and electronica - the first vinyl release will be available later in the year and you can hear tracks by Matt's new project 'Veil' here right now:
In his guise as DJ Veil, Matt is presenting a radio programme on the South West's 10Radio 105.3FM (streaming online at 10radio.org). The show, The Electric Briefcase, goes out every second Sunday between 10pm and midnight and is a mix of dubstep, dub, electronica, hauntology and the occasional lost jazz gem.

05:12:07 *** New EP ***
Magnétophone have just wrapped up a brand new four track EP which will be released on First Fold next year. Release date to follow.
Magnetophone are Birmingham natives Matt Huish Saunders and John Hanson. Friends since childhood, as boys they would often be found under water, weighed down by bricks and playing Stylophones. Displaying a gift for linguistic manipulation which has continued to sustain their career, they named this ritual the "Alpha Beti Bon-Tempi Underwater Electro-Hydro Sound-Fusion".
Matt and John's first vinyl appearance, "You Should Write Music", was on the Earworm label. They then embarked on a summer tour of caravan parks, during which the Static Brothers witnessed the live favourite Air Methods, and asked the band to record this for their Static Caravan label. This was followed by a 12" EP, Temporary Lid, was warmly received by NME.
The duo then signed to 4AD, recording a Peel studio session in spring 2000. They also played live on a Peel show as the opening act of the BBC's Music Live 2000 festival, appearing alongside Plone and Broadcast. Matt and John then completed work on their debut album, I Guess Sometimes I Need To Be Reminded Of How Much You Love Me, the titles for which were conjured with a bag of scrabble tiles and a ouija board.
Magnetophone returned in 2005 with The Man Who Ate The Man, which finds them flirting with song structure while spinning webs of dreamily captivating texture. The album runs the gamut from sprawling psychedelia to the sweetest of melancholy snippets, aided by an impressive array of collaborators. Breeders sisters Kim and Kelley Deal and alt-folk troubadour PG Six represent underground America, while the Fence collective's HMS Ginafore and King Creosote contribute skeins of Caledonian melody.
A number of spin-off releases are in the pipeline. These include a limited 12" featuring Sonic Boom's 20-minute remix of "Benny Insobriety", and JM Lapham of The Earlies' soundclash/collage version of the entire album, which will be made available online. The band have also become known for their striking record sleeves, featuring some of v23's most ambitious designs.

A new comer to FSOLdigital - SEAFAR deliver a fat slice of electric space music - Hegira the sounds of a flight from danger. Wander the streets together, the noise of life muted by sheets of rain, brilliant colours dimmed in a pervading mist of grey. An instrumental amalgam of moody beats and synth drenched noises.
