About Magnum

Then there was Magnum. Their brand of self-aware Butt Rock is matched only by the likes of The Darkness themselves. Clad in a white leisure suit, Terrence stretched his vocal chords, ensuring that he was the loudest thing in the room. Deric of course dazzled us with his fancy guitar work while both of the Steves kept and even keel with the bass and drums. I think what gets me about these guys is that Magnum exists solely for entertainment's sake. It's as though they remember the time when rock music was fun and lacked self-importance. They know there's an element of hilarity to their act, and they own it with unparalleled grace. And if words like those haven't earned me a free band T-shirt, I don't know what will.
