The Magpie Cage is the recording studio of producer/engineeer J. Robbins, located in beautiful Baltimore MD. Format is ProTools HD2, with the option (highly recommended) to mix down to 1/2" analog. The setup is ideal for groups of musicians whose work benefits from whole-band takes, thanks to a comfortable performance space and many monitoring options. Building songs one performer at a time is easy here too, thanks to flexible signal routing and a spacious, acoustically neutral control room. And many toys.
Oh yeah, and we've finally got wireless internet!

As of February 08, the Magpie Cage is also home to Brooks Harlan's Big Crunch amp repair and guitar workshop. Welcome Brooks!
It's hard to believe it has been almost a year since I sat in your studio and played burnout 3 with tyler all day...and also played a little guitar...haha
we're going to be dishing out audio sex at around 9:00pm March 4th at the Black Cat with the really awesome Say Hi! Hope you can make it... Looking forward to getting back in the studio!!!
I just had the time to listen to the record for the first time since I left for Tuvalu two months ago. You really accomplished a lot of fullness for us without resorting to making everything overcompetitive. So there isn't too much headroom by any means, but what headroom there is is of the right variety.
It sounds full, organic, and it has mids that allow it to breathe. Thanks for your work mixing it.
Now that I'm back from Tuvalu, the record should be going to press pretty much immediately. As soon as manufacturing starts I'll send a detailed email your way so you can know how to make sure the money generated by the sales ends up where it's supposed to.
