Maiara is half Brazilian and speaks Spanish and Portuguese in addition to English. Her ear for language has made it easy for her to mimic all types of accents although she devised the one she uses for her character on "Cory in the House." .
She and her family take annual vacations to Brazil to visit her large extended family.
The Simi Valley, California, native celebrates her birthday on February 18 and lives with her parents in the San Fernando Valley. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, drawing, singing, dancing and surfing.
