About me:
After having kids, I guess I define myself as a mom because your whole life revolves around your kids. I have 2 Son's Cody is 18 and Patrick is 17. I also have a 4 year old daughter named Liberty. (her father is from New York hence the name.) I have been married for 11 years to Phil Helmer. We have known each other for 20 years though. He is my best friend. Basically, I am out to have fun, form meaningful relationships, make memories, I love meeting new people and finding out what drives them. I can be stubborn sometimes and I am highly opinionated about the issues that matter to me.
I am nocturnal, that is when I have the most energy. I have not been able to change this and so it is not uncommon to find me awake at 2 am. Therefore, I hate mornings and feel that the alarm clock is my #1 enemy. I am a loyal friend and most of my closest friends have been friends for 10 years or longer. My husband and I do not have family in Sacramento or Fresno, so our friends are our family.
I am a forgiving person, I rarely hold a grudge. I usually like to believe that people are genuinly good but I have been disappointed and hurt many times because of that belief. But if you live your life without taking a chance of getting hurt, you will miss out on potential great relationships. Every situation is a learning one. So when I find a good friend, I hold on for dear life. Good friends are hard to find.
finally, without question, my faith is what carries and sustains me. Jesus Christ is my life! This does not mean I am perfect, I am still running the race, dealing with my personal vices, sins, and daily struggles. I have found that Jesus has changed me though, the things I once thought important is no longer. Now the important things in life are Faith, Family and Friends.
