Maid Mirawyn probably needs to update status more often, since the old message was FOUR MONTHS old… Posted at 12:43 PM Sep 16 view more
About me: Hi, I'm Mirawyn, and I'm a geek, fully eligible for Geeks Anonymous. Not that I would join; I like me! (Besides, my husband would be so disappointed.)
So who am I really? Well, I'm a Christian (Southern Baptist) and a graphic designer. I'm also a book artist, and interested in a lot of what most people consider "folk arts" instead of "real art": ceramics, weaving, paper arts, and knitting and crochet. (Yeah, my art instructors would be horrified. Pfft. I put in my time doing things their way.)
I'm a Middle Eastern dancer, too. I've been dancing with Seshambeh Dance Company in Atlanta since 1994, under the leadership of Saroya. Right now I usually only perform twice a year (at Nicola's Restaurant near Emory), but that keeps me busy enough.
And back to geekdom: I play D&D, Guild Wars (mesmer), Munchkin, and all sorts of board games. I'm also addicted to Katamari Damacy, which is one of the strangest games I've ever seen! Basically, I just love games!
I'm an admin over at TechnoChicks, a group of Christian ladies of the geeky persuasion. Guys are welcome to come chat, but of the site is ladies-only. Come check us out!
I'm also an admin at Craft Wonderland. I'm a major crafter, and this craft forum is a modern site for Christian crafters. AND I'm knitting a dragon; top that, guys!
I also love science, particularly astronomy, and started out as a physics major in college. And I think math is fun. So sue me.
Unlike the stereotypical geek, I like to get out in the sunshine. I'm not the "organized sports" type, though; I'm more likely to go wandering through the woods or biking on trails. My favorite activities, by far, are geocaching or hiking to waterfalls, especially in North Georgia.
For the record...I am extremely, unbelievably, happily married, for twelve years this June!
Hey Dea. Thank you for Luke's hat. It fits perfectly and he used it the same day we got it! He is very proud of his hat that his Aunt Dea made for him. How is your mom and your sis doing?
Happy birthday beloved! Had a great time celebrating with...well lets see...food, then food, then there was more food...now THAT'S my idea of a celebration! :)
Thanks for the recipe - I'm interested in trying to make some! Let me know if you try it out and if it works... Hope y'all are doing well. We're planning a b-day party for Charlie on April 5th at my moms, and I wanted to give y'all a heads up! We would love to see you! Take Care!
