| About Maine Academy of Modern Music |
The Maine Academy of Modern Music is not your average music school. We're a non-profit school focused on creating positive learning experiences in musical arts for all students. Our campus is the entire state of Maine and our curriculum rocks! The Academy picks up where most other music schools leave off; we're dedicated to studying and playing the music of now, whether it's popular music from your iPod or the brand new song you've uploaded to your own band's Myspace.
Our teachers are all professional musicians working in the areas of rock, pop, punk, hip hop, electronica, funk, R&B, metal, ska, and any other genre you could dream up. The Academy teaches individual lessons on a variety of instruments, hosts summer and school vacation music camps, and conducts ensemble lessons, as well.
We teach out of our studio in the Woodfords neighborhood of Portland, as well as making "house call" lessons to students' homes and practice spaces. Our camps and other services reach all over the State, from Kennebunk to Machias and beyond. No matter your age or ability, the Maine Academy of Modern Music has something for you.
