N3M CHRISTMAS PARTY Showcasing a host of quality bands and Dj's from both Liverpool and Leeds at a quality new Leeds venue. Get down early folks as Mainline will be performing an acoustic opener.
Mainline are a Leeds-based five piece and are essentially an indie rock and roll band but with a fusion of their many different influences they have created and developed their own sound. Although the machine that is Mainline has been operating for some years now a few line up changes along the way has kept re-energizing the band and their music. Mainline have done an impressive amount of gigs in the north of England stirring a lot of interest as they go and they have a strong following. They are also no strangers to the studio.
“High tempo tunes with harmonic vocals. They are indie but they seem to have a blues married with punk feeling, both soulful and rough at the same time”.
Leeds Music Scene.
“They play with a bluesy, punk sound which is nothing short of top drawer”.
Vibrations Magazine.
MAINLINE ARE BACK IN 2009 With new material and their original drummer Neil Holdsworth. Watch this space for up coming gigs and future recordings.

A Celtic song written by French folk star Gilles Servat has been given an African makeover to benefit two worthy charities. “Le Pays” (This Land), written by Servat and Irish musical wizard Donal Lunny, featured on Dan Ar Braz 1997 album “Heritage des Celtes”, speaks of the loneliness and isolation of migrant workers.
French interpreter and musician Phil Muriel translated the song into English, relating it to the heart wrenching experiences of asylum seekers who have fled persecution and torture only to face destitution and endless waiting for others to decide on their future in this country.
Now Phil has recorded the song with the help of African drummers, giving it a completely different style and aiming to benefit two charities through record sales.
Phil declares: “I have the greatest admiration for the counsellors and volunteers from “The Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture” and “Justice First” who give of themselves, open their hearts and often, their homes, to help torture victims and asylum seekers; I want to do something to support their work”.
