Opening night of our new exhibition featuring work by Jeff Dodd and Derek Erdman
Jeff Dodd's work consists of hyper- realistic landscapes, taken, like moments in time, from the rural Oklahoma countryside. Dodd's extreme mastery of oil painting allows the viewer to be transported to a place that visually appears to be a segment of reality. This exhibition of work includes 3 works commissioned by the Norman Regional Hospital to be installed in their new facility, opening later in 2009. Jeff Dodd's exquisite oil paintings are featured in the Oklahoma State Capital mural collection. Dodd is a native of Enid Oklahoma and has many works in private and public collections.
Chicagoan artist Derek Erdman will be exhibiting his group of paintings under the heading “FANTASY SPORTS”, which includes work in the Pop Art style. Erdman’s new pieces are acrylic on wood, paper, glass and found object. Erdman's work is “absurdist” in nature and bold in style, featuring bright colors and text. Erdman has subject matter for every taste, with an end result of beautifully detailed and spatially “flat” figurative and iconic imagery.
