About me: In May 2007, a group of feisty young women in the forgotten boroughs of New York City decided to form a theater company. Mainspring Collective is a group of artists devoted to the exploration and presentation of the experiences that drive people apart and pull them together. Focusing on the creation and interpretation of honest work that they believe in, Mainspring Collective is at times a voice, a fist, a heart, a brain; but always a source of fresh and forward-thinking work.

Mainspring Collective is casting devised theater piece based on the play Fetes de la Nuit by Charles L. Mee. We are seeking strong ensemble actors (all genders/races/ages) interested in creating a multimedia performance piece scheduled for a 2 week run in NYC in early March. Please prepare one 60 sec contemporary monologue (comedic or dramatic) as well as something else you would like to share (something self scripted, sing/play guitar, juggle, eat fire etc.)
Auditions will be held on Wednesday December 17th from 8-10pm and Thursday December 18th from 12-2pm at the Producers' Club Theaters (358 W 44th St between 8th and 9th Aves). If you are unable to attend these dates, please contact info@mainspringcollective.com to schedule an alternative audition.
