jan "maista" maihorn - i was born 22/11/77 in east-berlin and have been playing my main instrument guitar for 20 years now. during this time, my most persistent band has been the "buckelbeats" (with steve patuta, macke prinz, tilman tschacher, steffen kieslowski and alexander scheer). a rather large band was the huge percussion group "rakatak", with whom i released their debut album at the buschfunk label in 2000.
i have finished my berlin studies in audio/video technology, studied one year at LIPA in england and now graduated in jazz composition at the rotterdam conservatory. during the years i wrote for theatre, dance and film, and kept close contact to my instrument by playing brazilian guitar in various formations.
