Led by the bizarre David Stroughter, Detroit's Majesty Crush was one of the smaller shoegazing groups to rise out of the short-lived scene in the early '90s. Stroughter's obsession with tennis-playing women and Kevin Shields made for an interesting mix, while his strong vocals were often the high point of their recordings. Letting Stroughter's charisma give the band a good shot of personality, they still never quite found their audience and eventually broke up. Stroughter went on to form P.S. I Love You, an even weirder outfit that further explored his weird interests. ~ Bradley Torreano, All Music Guide
