Major 5th is a pop-rock band that began in March of 2007. The band has five members which includes Victoria Vang, vocalist, Leng Moua, lead guitarist; Daniel McNellis, bassist; David Yang, percussionist; and Andy Pen, keyboardist. Within their first year they began touring Minnesota and Wisconsin campuses. In 2008 they hired Vladimir Xiong as their manager and recorded their first demo including the songs The Road Ahead, The Chaser, and Thank You. Thank You was featured in a community musical as it was to help the youth learn about performing arts. They have performed at many MN venues which include Trocaderos, The Rea Bar, Acadia Café and the Hard Rock Café in which they filled the house. Their first album is scheduled to be released in August 2009.
The sound of Major 5th can be described as electrifying melodies, illustrious rhythm, exploding vocals and a touch of synth. The music is catchy and is marketed towards people ages 15 to 35. Major 5th has established an unwavering foundation in the Minnesota and Wisconsin music scene and will continue to smother their expanding fans with vigorous energy as their music develops.
