'Major Definition' was originally formed in 2005 under the creative talents of founders Jake Naldo, Jemuel Valencia, Kristen Jacobsen, Miguel Almario and Peter Nguyen, with inspirational support from Lyle Beniga. Since then, it has truly evolved into the incredible talent that is our team today. We are committed to the education of the hip-hop history and culture, and fostering of artistic talent and expression through music and dance. Major Definition continues to encourage students of the dance and hip-hop community to passionately pursue and further develop their talents both in individual and group choreography, freestyle and performance.

Mission Statement: To promote an awareness of hip-hop dance through competition and performance within UMBC as well as building confidence, leadership, and team unity.

Objectives:
1. To be involved in competitive dancing throughout the region and along the East Coast.
2. To participate in local performances to support other student organizations.
3. To create dance mentorship programs and workshops.
4. To volunteer.

Major Definition is committed to the education and discovery of artistic talent and expression in music and dance. Major Definition will achieve its mission by providing diverse dance programs within and outside the collegiate community. Major Definition will encourage students and members to passionately pursue and develop their talents in dance, choreography, and performance.

Come support a great cause!! MAJOR DEF will be performing along-side awesome teams such as CULTURE SHOCK, D.C., FR3SH and JABBAWOCKEEZ to help raise funds for CHILDRENS CHOICE.
