MAJORA y MINORA are the DJ crew of BackSpin Records, Austin's awesome-est (ahem) record store. Pay them a visit at 5247 Burnet Rd., Austin TX 78756 or in cyberspace at www.backspinrecords.net.
And now ... a bio:
Freaks, robots, countrymen lend me your ears. Majora y Minora are here to get your body hyped. The place? Space. When? The future right now the year 2019. How? By any means necessary.
Fueled by hater-ade and armed with mountains of wax, these two refugees from the post-apocalypse (Hillary Cardwell AKA Red 88 and Eric The Beatdazzla Wallenstein) take to the decks in order to represent for the music they love: house, techno, electro, disco, italo, acid, and all other forms of I.B.M. (Intelligent Booty Music). The result is anything but predictable, a mixture of classic and new sounds from the underground.
Previously, as part of the Frescher-Southern crew headed up by Austin expat DXM (Josh Knowles), Majora y Minora helped to promote a series of Oscillate Nights, events which saw them deejaying alongside a number of incredible artists including Legowelt, Orgue Electronique, TLR, Deceptikon, Proem, R9 and Plastic Sleeves. Other recent shows have included AMODA events with Andreas Tillinader and DAT Politics, as well as appearances at Merrick Brown's Get Broke and at Grits @ Skate World(hosted by Daetron Vargas and The Young Adorable).

Electro greetz,
Just dropping through to announce that my DebonaireRecords. com website has been freshly stocked with a new T-SHIRT fashion line, hot off the press VINYL records and MP3 downloads for instant bass vibrations.
Respekt,
Deb
Yo Hill! Love you too, man. But we had to get the heck out of Dodge! My wife got a good job at UM and I have a great future in DJing in Miami. Heard through the grapevine you might be moving too? Is that true? I'll give you a call when things settle down here. Cheers, Foxxy
Tomorrow, this FRIDAY, MARCH 7, we’ll be having a special in-store event featuring live P.A. perfomances from two local electronic music artists:
BROOKS MOSHER -- A Detroit producer who’s recently moved to Austin, Brooks has been making tracks since the mid-90s and has released material on Smart Records and Comfortable Records. Expect deep and moody techno with a warm Detroit feel.
MIKE TAYLOR (aka DISCO NIHILIST) -- Another Detroiter now in Austin, Mike has crafted sounds ranging from ambient to ghetto-tech that always maintain a link to the Motor City techno sound.
