The final concepts demonstrated astonishing diversity, creativity and understanding of the Make Trade Fair campaign... The winning idea will help us reach
a new audience, building on our work to make trade fair".

This is SAD ! Big Oil Company Petrobras is sponsoring the Artivist film festival this year !. I dont know what is worse...Artivist Film festivals Hypocrisy or Petrobras Green-Washing our community ! This sponsorship is detrimental to the spirit and integrity of the Artivist Film Festival , who refused to reject this sponsorship and to establish a policy to screen out socially irresponsible companies and in particular big oil companies. They accept thousands of green wash dollars from Petrobras a company with a total disrespect for human rights and the environment. Artivist accepts their money even thought we made them aware of the fact that indigenous peoples and our environment are paying the price for this companies profits and greed..!!!!!!!!!
I and many others, including many NGOs ,have urged Artivist to please DROP this sponsor . But Artivist has made up a new sponsorship title especially for petrobras ... 'community-partner' !!! I cannot see how Petrobras can be allowed to be the proud sponsor of the artivist film festival in LA.... But their Program Guide has Petrobras ALL OVER IT !!!
As I write this, Petrobras is involved in giant oil protest controversies ,in one of the most important national parks in the Amazon, home of isolated and even uncontacted indigenous groups. Just two days ago, 100 members of the Hauaorani people traveled to Quito from deep in the remote Amazon rainforest to protest Petrobras's entry into their homeland. This is a major controversy in Ecuador. There is a pending legal case in front of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights where the hauaorani have denounced Petrobras for this very project. No amount of environmental programs by Petrobras should make you feel satisfied that they are a decent or remotely responsible company. THEY ARE NOT!
