About me: My name is Alex. I am 21 years old and I live in Massachusetts. I was born with a disorder called Cerebral Palsy. I also deal with a secondary condition called Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia. Both of these disorders cause difficulty in mobility. As I have gotten older, I am very rapidly losing my independance as far as my ability to walk. Because C.P. is seen as a non-progressive disorder, insurance will not cover the wheelchair I need to maintain my independance. I have tried everything under the sun to get them to come through, but to no avail. Now I am left trying to figure out how to come up with the money myself. I have set up a "Make Me Mobile" fund, (not an official foundation) to raise money through donations and hopefully be able to purchase the chair I need. I never ask people for financial help as I have relied only on myself to make it since a very young age. This is very difficult for me to do, but since there are no other options, I am asking for your help. No matter how big or small your donation, I appreciate it greatly. Thank you for helping to make me mobile again.
Who I'd like to meet: I am up for meeting anyone really. I am very much a people person and I see every person as a gift. Everyone I meet can teach me something. As long as you are true to yourself and others, and you are up for living life like there is no tomorrow, I'm up for meeting you!
