Strangeday: “A damn classy act with a respectable pedigree” (The Forum, Tunbridge Wells)

We formed Strangeday (under a different name) in 2000 and we have been on a rollercoaster of varying degrees of opportunity since then. We love performing with each other: together we’ve got over 30 years of playing in public under our belts despite only having an average age of 22. We’re based in the south east but play all over the country and abroad.

We have a wide range of musical influences. Our songs are written for the moment and just come from ourselves rather than being the result of an effort to fit into a particular genre. It’s hard to tie us down to a particular sound – we sound like Strangeday.

Strangeday’s sound:
Anwar – raucous and creative lead guitar and backing vocals
Ally – vibrant and robust bass
Westy – vigourous and sensitive drums
Toby – powerful lead vocals and rhythm guitar
This tight combination makes for energetic, heartfelt rock and a sweaty gig experience.

Our album, Please Intervene, is the most exciting thing we’ve done so far and gives a flavour of our wide range of musical styles. We’ve experimented with more ambitious concepts and the album is dense with layers of music carefully put together. The production process, however, has retained the vitality of our songs with the result being a substantial yet fresh collection of our favourite tunes to date.
