   W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery's Blurbs
About me:
Who I'd like to meet:
Welcome to the home of the new American spirit! We’re W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company, makers of world famous Case pocket knives, a company that’s 120 years young in 2009! Our company was founded around the turn of the 20th century by a teenager named John Russell Case. John Russell’s father, William Russell (a.k.a. “W.R.”), was a respected knife maker himself; one of the legendary Case Brothers. William Russell passed on his hand-crafting secrets to his son and helped set the stage for building one of America’s most beloved consumer brands.

The Case name continues to build on its long-standing reputation for quality and hand-crafting excellence. It’s what’s carried us through the Great Depression, two World Wars, and 19 different U.S. Presidents! Today the Case brand grows even stronger with the unveiling of our Making a Case for America campaign.

What is Making a Case for America? Quite simply, it’s about your hometown. It’s about the people in your town. It’s about jobs. It’s about your community. Making a Case for America is a program aimed at reviving the downtowns that were once the centerpieces of small towns all across America.

We’re all responsible for preserving America’s downtowns – places where we can escape the hustle and bustle of cookie-cutter developments and strip malls. We all want our children to be able to enjoy the finer things in life – things like friendly neighbors, a safe walk in the park, schools that build character, solid jobs to feed families, and downtown shops run by people who know your name.

Those downtown shops – the ones still run by your friends and neighbors – are where you’ll find most Case knives. They’re the reason we’ve been in business so long. They’re about the only places left where you can still find quality products just down the street with “Made in America” stickers on them. Our futures depend on keeping good paying jobs right here in the good ol’ U.S.A, wouldn’t you agree?

Take some time now to stroll through our website and discover what the word “COMMUNITY” is all about. When you’re done, you might just ask yourself: “What can I do to revive my hometown?” The answer is simple. You can start by supporting your local retailer that sells Case knives and other Made in America products. You’ll find they’re some of the best things life has to offer!

I am a CASE Collector. I have all kind of patterns, but my favorite is the 953L and 9531/2L (Russlock),and my wife collects the Tiny Toothpicks. We have been on the tour at the CASE factory, and if any of you are in the area of Bradford Pa. you must take the tour to see how much work goes in to making a knife that you can buy from $30 and up.
