About me:

I host a Website Community for musicians & fans. The site is www.makinmusicny.com. Musicians & fans can post gigs there, read articles, post to the forum, and see what's going on around town. This is my way of thanking my musician friends. If you're a musician or a fan of live music, that a look.

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by. Here's a little information about me. Despite the fact that I'm extremely involved with music in the NY/NJ area today, I am not a musician. My connection to the music scene was purely accidental. When I took an early retirement from the corporate world, I wasn't sure what to do & I became restless. I was accustomed to being extremely busy. I found the answer through reconnecting to my life-long love of music. That which started as an attempt to help a friend promote his performances, evolved into a newsletter, and eventually morphed into a Music Community. I am a former Operations Manager, Engineer, and Adjunct Professor and today I do consulting work, volunteer, and run the Web Music Community. This is my way of thanking my musician friends for the many hours of enjoyment they have given me. You will also find me here: www.MakinMusicNY.com http://www.myspace.com/mstokes313 http://facebook.com/MakinMusicNY

Thanks Mike! And although I am really a Met's fan, (even though I don't pay too much attention to sports anymore these days), I had to root for my place of birth, (actually that would be Brooklyn, but it's still NY!). So yes, I was rooting for the Yankees! And I must say, they made for a very exciting series, and they played extremely good baseball!! Unfortunately, my wife and her sister, and my band-mate John McNutt are all die-hard Phillies fans! Oh well...May the better team win...and they DID!! (-:

    Hi Mike
Thanks for your great comments and for reminding me of the wonderful website you have established. My performances and work load have been heavy. All of the promotion and advertising over the years is paying off! There are great venues in my schedule and my game has reached another level. I will engage heavily on your website. Yes, I still do first Tuesdays @ Rustik. The crowds have been immense! Thank you so much my friend!
    Be well.
