  • General

Art (Kandinsky, Hopper, Waterhouse, O'Keeffe, Picasso), architecture (Neutra, Schindler), music, literature, hiking (Joshua Tree!), photography (Weston, Man Ray) and amateur photography ("A good photograph is knowing where to stand. A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed" Ansel Adams). Reverse psychology. Interesting people, duh. Carnivorous plants. Enjoying the great places in and around Los Angeles that are still here. Old movie locations. Basically any damn thing that stimulates the mind.

  • Heroes

Anybody who blows the whistle on some impending disaster, then gets fired for telling the truth that the higher ups just don't want to hear.

About me:

I am 50% John Wayne and 50% Don Knotts. I wish I were 50% Cary Grant and 50% Gregory Peck. I was born and raised in a Los Angeles that doesn't exist anymore. Jack Webb's L.A., back when no building could be taller than City Hall and most suburbs were places Wally and the Beaver would feel comfortable in. I mis-spent my youth working in great record stores. With my college degree firmly clutched in my right hand I worked at Mr. and Mrs. T Cocktail Mix, then Alpha Therapeutic (a pharmaceutical company). After these experiences I threw my degree in the trash and became a writer. I wrote screenplays for a while. I've been a music reviewer for AUDIO magazine. I was exiled to a vast suburban wasteland in Ventura County which makes the Downey of my youth look cutting edge. After seeing my city get destroyed, I sold my house and traveled the country looking for a place to live. I've finally found it. For at least a year... my lease says so. What come next? Your guess is as good as mine.

Who I'd like to meet:

I dunno... try me.
