A BIT OF HISTORY OF THE PROPERTY.... In the 1880's, the Malloy's building was first put into use as a drug store and home by Irish immigrants named Dunnigan in Terre Haute's Irish district, later known as Dunnigan's Subdivision.
At the time of Prohibition (in 1919), it was a gin joint and brothel, and the address disappeared from the city books for a while. (I guess that's why one of our ghostly EVPs states that the spirit's favorite drink is, "Gin!" The original bar from 1919 is still in the building.
Through the years the building has housed gambling halls, taverns, restaurants, and ever so much more.
It's on the north edge of the I.S.U. campus at the junction of North 7th Street, 3rd Avenue & Lafayette Avenue, on the south edge of Union Hospital. Certainly not hard to find!..
