Due to computer troubles and a momentary lapse of attention in January 08, I lost
all the email addresses (and email) I've collected over the past year and a
half... dang! I thought I was backing it up... turns out I wasn't. Lesson learnt. So
if you haven't had
an eMal update for a while, let me know, love, Mal
G'day there, thanks for visiting. If you want to be kept informed about my gigs in your area, get on my email list via http://www.malwebb.com ... tis easy. Hope you dig it. Onya, thine a warbling, Mal
I've got a few clips
up on YouTube.com and there's selection of them below.
And here's a bit of a blurb:
Vocal adventuring, multi-instrumental songwriter. Ballads, beatbox and beyond. A jolly jaw dropping journeyman. Eclectic, ebullient and even educational. Mal Webb uses a world of vocal techniques and writing styles and plays guitar, mbira, slide trumpet, chromatic harmonica, a loop recording pedal called Derek and the audience... a lot. A founding member of the Oxo Cubans, Sock and Totally Gourdgeous, he plays sometimes with The Cat Empire and Bomba and did the music for the Lano and Woodley TV show and Wogs Out of Work. Mal played mbira and sang "Eagle Rock" with Ross Wilson on John Safran's Music Jamboree on SBS. Ani DiFranco said "You're a freak!" after Mal played support for her. Mal has spent a lot of time mucking about.
Live looping impro "They're Taking the Hobbits to Isengard" at Woodford 05/06

I am moving back to Czechland so I missed you in the Beehive and I did not get a ticket to Glastonbury but I have sent all my friends to c you there - so you should have full house :-) You have to come and play in Czechland one day - we have the best beer:-)
sounds good to me. no, I didn't realise your sister was also mary webb... wow, its almost like we're family. I live in Adelaide, but have family in Melbourne so go over fairly regularly. When are you back from the even bigger smoke?
‘Awesome music. Your stuff is really incredible’ (Tommy Emmanuel). In this flamenco duo, Orlando performs his all original flamenco guitar compositions on the the guitar of his dreams, made in 1973 by Faustino Conde, Paco De Lucia's Luthier, accompanied by Michael Kontachristos on the cajon flamenco drum. A night of infectious gypsy flamenco by two of Melbourne's internationally recognised flamenco artists.
