MAMA BUZZ SHOWS ARE BACK. Please email Brian (events@mamabuzzcafe.com) if you'd like to book one!
IMPORTANT THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE CONTACTING US FOR A DATE:
1. Our space is intimate, like really intimate, y'all. If ya draw 300 people we'd recommend one of the nearby D.I.Y establishments or independent venues. If ya got full stacks and 6 guys or gals in the band it probably ain't gonna work either.
2. We are a cafe, gallery, and community space, not a big rock club. Our setup and show-related resources are kinda rudimentary. You can take suggested donations by passing the hat or providing YOUR OWN gallery door person for the show. You keep everything you make. We don't do guarantees or booking contracts. There's hardly ever a PA around so make sure you can bring whatever you need if you've got singers in the project.
3. If you're a touring band pushing for a date it helps immensely to approach us with at least one, if not two, local bands in mind. Our time for booking is sadly cut short by all the other things we have going on! Ideally, you will have already contacted them to check availability. Trust us, it helps us help you.
4. Please use the email above for booking as opposed to myspacing us requests. In your email, include a link to your myspace page or music posted elsewhere. I know that seems weird to some of y'all, but it helps us centralize all of the requests into one place. Also, be sure to mention where you're from (and ideas for locals if you're touring) and the dates you have available.
5. Thank you for your patience and support. Now let's do this.

Legalize It!
Tom Ammaniano (state assemblyman from San Francisco) just introduced a
bill into the state assembly to tax and regulate marijuana as we do
alcohol -- i.e., it would be legalized, taxed, and regulated. Like
alcohol, sales would be limited to folks over 21, penalties would be in
place for dui, sale to minors, etc. in other words, it sounds like the
right approach. The bill's official number is AB390, and more info will probably be available soon at www. norml. org and www. mpp. org.
If you have a minute, call and/or email your state assembly person and
Senator to encourage them to support the bill. You can look up their
contact info online based on your zip code:
http://www. legislature. ca. gov/port-zipsearch. html.
Feel free to pass this along. The bill is fighting an uphill battle
against a vast legacy of misguided and uninformed policy, and it will
only have a chance of passing if people speak up in favor.
This bill will provide California with one billion dollars of revenue each year (each ounce is taxed $50)
Do your part to help LEGALIZE IT!
