We draw from many different influences and thus, have crafted a well rounded and hard drivin', "progressively traditional" sound that is enhanced with crisp vocal harmonies for that "High Lonesome Sound".
Mama Corn is a five piece bluegrass outfit based out of Blair County, Pennsylvania that delivers a hard-driving, “progressively traditional” bluegrass sound. Despite musical backgrounds as varied as rock, jazz, blues, country and gospel, the members of Mama Corn have concentrated their efforts on their shared passion for bluegrass music. As newcomers to the festival circuit, they have cut their teeth playing working-class honkytonks, honing their skills to acquire the best possible marriage of crisp vocal harmony and picking prowess. Comprised of guitarist Bruce Forr, Jeremy Nelson on banjo, Brad Floyd playing mandolin, bassist Kelly Montgomery, and John Stevens on the dobro, the members of Mama Corn promise something for everyone from the young pups to the old paps.
2 corn cobs were walking downtown and the first cob noticed that they were being followed by another strange cob everywhere they went. The first cob whispered to the second cob "Don't look know but I think we are being followed by a stalker"
