NEW CD OUT ! "BLUES IN MANY COLORS"
Listen to strips from the new CD on the Musicplayer!
With the soulfull singer & composer Lene Strøyer in front Mama's Blues Joint is playing Funky rhythm & Blues.
Strong songwriting, good grooves combined with high level musicianship. Mama's Blues Joint delivers a great Live Perfomance.
The singer/songwriter Lene Strøyer has been performing on the Scandinavian live scene since 1987.
Her career took off in the 90'es, after she completed her music studies in Los Angeles.
In 2002 she founded her dream team, Mama's Blues Joint, where she fully lives out her capacities as a composer and singer.
They have just released their second album..
Lene Strøyer has written most of the material for the band and the musicians in the band each add their own colours to the music in their own unique way.
Live Mama’s Blues Joint delivers songs from the CD mixed with great rhythm & Blues songs by artist as Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, B.B. King, Albert Collins and Delbert McClinton.
This is rhythm & blues with a touch of soul/rock/funk and country - and great love for a good groove.

I played this album without looking at the cover and believed,
because of the name, that the band was American and,
because of the vocals, that it was fronted by a well-schooled
black female singer.
The production sounded American and even the Stevie Wonder styled harmonica on 'Happy Dude' and the horn section on 'This Ain't Love' all contrived to add to that belief.
Imagine my surprise, then, when I discovered that the
vocalist in question is a young lady called Lene Stroyer and that
the band is Danish!
Nine tracks are all Stroyer originals and excellent quality they are, too.
The best is probably 'How Many Times', a beautiful love song.
In fact, matters of the heart are a consistent theme throughout, with titles like 'The Love That I Gave You', 'I'm Missing You' and 'My Heart Will Speak'.
Styles range from ballads through slow Blues to out and out rockers,
such as 'Mama Told Me'.
Willie Dixon's 'Spoonful' gets an outing
with a full sounding brass section livening up the whole, with the fat sounding Hammond organ adding its' chunky
sound.
The funky 'NoExceptionToTheRule' would make a
good dance track at any party.
Throughout, Stroyer is backed by a very tight four-piece, with added horn section on many of the numbers. A good introduction to Danish Blues..
