"Already banking radio play with this delicious modern
take on sumery '70-tingled soul...(Mamas Gun) openly
filters the multi-layered spirit of Stevie and Marvin through
latter-day smooth sensualist such as D'Angelo or Maxwell...
Think Mark Ronson without the smarm"
Uncut Magazine 4 OUT OF FIVE stars (August 08)
"Mamas Gun are to be commdended: it's pretty hard to reinvent the sweet, warm, groove filled - r'n'b of the 1970's with credibilty . Their trick is to sound like they've cherry picked the finest deatils of an eclectic record collection...This, together with frontman Andy Platts's winsome vocals and the outfits experimental instruments, means they've nailed some seriously crowd pleasing tunes"
The Metro 'One to watch' (August '08)
"One of the best things you can do on radio is play a good record, today someone bought this little gem into our studio, I played it and I thought well, it really doesn't get any better than this...(plays Pots Of Gold)...Can you believe that we get songs like this delivered into us?. How good is that song?....unbelievable!...contemporary, its just smacks of quality"
Chris Evans Drive-Time Show on BBC Radio 2 07.05.08
"Mamas Gun - a great new artist"
DJ Trevor Nelson on Radio 2
"Mamas Gun, led by über cool vocalist Andy Platts sound fabulous on record and go down a hoot live too!"
Steve Lamaq BBC Radio 1
" One listen and you'll feel like real soul music and music with real soul has finally found its way home."

SUCCESS IN GERMANY!
We contributed a song to an album that’s entered the download charts at number 2 and the physical charts at number 4 in Germany. The album is a tribute to German Hip hop pioneers Die Fantastischen Vier. We were honored to be asked to do a version of their early hit “Die Da” from 1989. OLD SCHOOL! Anyway – thanks so much to all our German friends for helping propel the album to that height in the charts. We’ll be back in Germany to play alongside Die Fantastischen Vier in Hamburg in September…PS the album (unsurprisingly) is called “A Tribute To Die Fantastischen Vier”.

WE ARE BACK!! What a whirlwind that was! A month on the road with ludicrously talented Beverley Knight was inspirational, thrilling, exhausting, challenging but so rewarding.
Overall we had a fantastic response every night with sales of our album going into 3 figures most nights - not bad for the support band with a 30 min slot!!! THANKYOU to everyone we met and spoke to, thankyou for your support and rest assured we will be back to play for you all in the new year :) Keep yer eyes posted on our live schedule.... Other stuff: recording a single to put out in Hong Kong and China - hmmm interesting...

WE'RE HALFWAY THROUGH THE BEVERLEY KNIGHT TOUR and things have been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. We've had some rocking gigs, some trying gigs, gigs plagued with illness but overall we've had a real blast. We also want to continue to thank our gracious host Ms Beverley Knight for not only having us on tour but for her personal support. I damn near lost my voice yesterday thanks to a man-cold and she came to the rescue with a host of miracle cures and suggestions. I've never been on tour with another artist who is so gracious and open and helpful, she really is a star.
So we got a day off today and then it's back on the road for the next 8 dates. Lots of vids and pics being taken - they're being updated in real time on our Mamas Gun Facebook page so go check it out! THANKYOU TO EVERYONE who's bought the record on the road and shown their support, we can't thankyou enough!!!!!AP

HELLLOOO! We are currently on a day off from touring with Beverley Knight. The last 4 dates in Ipswich, Cardiff, Bristol and Wolves have been fantastic - we've been getting a great response from the crowds and shifting a lot of albums! We fly up to Glasgow tomorrow and NW England alas without The Professor - we've got Ben Epstein standing in for 3 gigs (you may have seen him playing with Duffy over the last 2 years). But don't worry The Prof will be back in no time!
Other news: We are Number 1 in the Japanese airplay chart and Number 3 in the Japanese Billboard Hot 100 chart!!!
