I live in the Arizona mountains with my husband and two kids.
Maya, my older daughter, is a senior in high school this year, and I can't believe it. When did I get so old? It seems like only yesterday, that I was gawky and worried about whether or not the guy in front of me in English class liked me or not. Now I get to watch (with horror) as she goes through all the same triumphs, anxieties and lessons.
My younger daughter, Kajsa, is six. Yep, I have a 17 year old and a 6 year old. I guess I must like a challenge.
Speaking of challenges...Kajsa was diagnosed with Kidney Failure when she was 39 days old. Kajsa hit end stage before her first birthday. She went onto the transplant list on November 23, 2005. And on June 3rd 2006 Kajsa received her kidney! We cannot ever fully express the gratitude we feel each and every day.
My husband, Chris, is a fish guy. We have a big ole tank with several kinds of Cichlids. If you ever have any questions about fish care, I would be happy to deliver them.
Having made it through Kajsa's very tumultuous transplant experience, I've finally headed back to work. And it feels great. It's like I walk among the living once more. I forgot how fulfilling it could be to leave the house every day. Yes, I know that sounds strange. Most people complain bitterly about work. But having spent years without the option, it truly feels like a blessing.
So I'm back to massaging the masses.
Now that Chris is "finished" with school, I'm also back at college. Although I feel like I'm in kindergarten, it's wonderful to be taking classes again. I'm currently working on my Associates in American Sign Language. After that I will be transferring to NAU to complete my bachelor's in communication disorders. After that, I'll be in the home stretch while working on my masters in Speech Pathology. It's a long trek, but I'm excited about each and every step.

Daytona has a lot to do, but not too big, not to mention you have the beach & all the Bike events if you're into that..and it's 20 minutes from me. DeLand is cool because its 20 mins from Daytona & 40 mins from Orlando....
