Biografia

I Mamavibe sono attualmente una delle più importanti realtà reggae sarde. Nati nel 2009, propongono un'interessantissimo stile new-roots e delle liriche conscious (scritte principalmente in italiano ed inglese) dalle quali traspare una critica radicale al sistema di valori odierno e la neccessita' di sostituirlo e riscriverlo guidati dai valori fondamentali della filosofia reggae quali giustizia, rispetto e libertà. In poco tempo il gruppo cattura l'attenzione della massive sarda con la pubblicazione del primo demo-cd, intitolato "vivere", contentente 3 tracce completamente autoprodotte. L'estate del 2009 vede il progetto Mamavibe crescere sempre di più e prendere forma soprattutto attraverso un intensissima attività live che permette alla band di essere conosciuta in ogni angolo della Sardegna.
Nello stesso anno un primo importante riconoscimento da parte della critica arriva con la pubblicazione del brano "Politico" nella compilation del mensile Sonos e Cantos, brano che si distinguerà anche sul web per il suo numero di ascolti e visualizzazioni, evidenziando un interesse del pubblico sempre in crescita.
La volontà di trovare una collocazione solida nel nuovo panorama roots-reggae,che ha sempre alimentato le radici del progetto Mamavibe, si manifesta nell'immediato autunno dello stesso anno quando prende finalmente vita l'idea di un primo lavoro discografico ufficiale. La band ne annuncia l'uscita per la stagione estiva 2010, ed entrata in studio a novembre, si presenta nuovamente al pubblico in aprile con il singolo "Sete di musica", che darà il titolo all'intero album.
Comincia così il "Sete di Musica Tour" che vede i Mamavibe impegnati a presentare il loro nuovo lavoro in tutta l'isola, e non solo, in quella che si rivelera' una stagione-live intensissima e gratificante in grado di regalargli ottimi riscontri per quanto concerne pubblico e critica a livello nazionale.
Le dieci tracce che compongono il disco mostrano la grande capacità della band di esprimere messaggi forti ma costruttivi, su tematiche sociali affrontate nella quotidianità e su personali esperienze di vita. L'album è un perfetto mix di atmosfere e stili che spaziano dal new-roots al dub, non trascurando il potente step e le vibranti melodie dell'acustico. Nel disco sono presenti anche le collaborazioni con il dub master King Kietu, (sua la dub version del singolo), e con il singer Rootsman I (outta Train to Roots) nel brano Fight. "Sete di Musica" racconta di una sete mai estinta, una sete di giustizia e di rispetto, una sete di vibrazioni che i Mamavibe vogliono soddisfare per fuggire dalle troppe gabbie nelle quali è rinchiusa la società contemporanea.
Nel novembre 2010, a conorazione di un anno ricco di creatività e soddisfazioni, viene prodotto il video ufficale del brano "Stile" in collaborazione con l' "acagno production" mentre nel 2011, in occasione delle selezioni per l' "Europe Reggae Contest 2011", i Mamavibe presentano il singolo "More time". Attualmente la band lavora ai nuovi brani e allo spettacolo live da presentare al pubblico nel 2012.

BIOGRAPHY
Mamavibe are one of the most important Sardinian reggae groups. They were formed in 2009 and they want to offer a very interesting "new roots" style with "conscious" songs written in Italian and English. We can recognize a radical criticism toward the modern values system and the will to change and rebuild it using the reggae values like justice, respect and freedom.
The band has caught the attention of Sardinian people, publishing the first demo-disc entitled "Vivere" with three self-written tracks.
Since the summer of 2009 Mamavibe have quickly matured, being famous in all Sardinia even thanks to many live performances. In the same year they got an appreciation by the critics with the inclusion of "Politico" track in the monthly magazine "Sonos e Cantos". This track enjoys people's esteem even on the web with several views. It is a sure sign that Mamavibe have many fans. There is a firm wish to find a place in the new "roots-reggae" movement, a priority for Mamavibe. It became clearer in the Autumn of the same year with the first official record work. The publication is expected for the summer 2010 and the band steps out in April with the new single "Sete di Musica" that will also be the title for the album. During this time they have been improving their skills in the recording studio.
So it starts the "Sete di Musica Tour" where Mamavibe are going to show their new work in Sardinia and beyond. This is going to be satisfying with live sessions that will give nationwide success to the public and critics. The disc consists of ten tracks, demonstrating the band's skill to convey powerful and constructive messages concerning social matters and personal life experiences.
The album is a perfect mixture of feeling and styles that go from "new roots" to "dub" without failing to remember the powerful "step" and the vibrant melodies of acoustic music. In the album there is even the cooperation with the dub master King Kietu (the dub version single belongs to him) and with the singer Rootman I, (Outta Train To Roots) in the song "Fight". "Sete di musica" talks about a never quenched thirst, a thirst for justice and respect, a thirst for vibes that Mamavibe want to walk away from the too many cages in which the present society is shut.
In November 2010 the official video "Stile" in cooperation with "Acagno Production" was launched to crown a year full of rewarding and creativity. In 2011 Mamavibe have presented the new single "More Time" during the selections of the "Europe Reggae Contest 2011". The band is currently working on new pieces and on the live performances that will be presented in 2011.
