   About MaMaVig
Frank Vignola
Guitarist Frank Vignola is of the most highly sought after acoustic guitarists on the planet. At 22, having honed his chops in the NYC jazz world, he was picked up by Concord Jazz, for whom he made four records as a band leader in the early and mid-1990’s. He has toured and recorded with the likes of Bucky Pizzarelli, Les Paul, Lionel Hampton, Donald Fagen, Queen Latifah, Elton John, Ringo Starr, Madonna, Dave Grisman, Mark O’Connor and many more. Frank joined old friend Joe Ascione and put together The Frank & Joe Show in 2003. They recorded two successful albums for Hyena Records before independently releasing this year’s Submarine Bus. “…the monstrous Frank Vignola….is one of the most vicious tremolo-pickers on the scene.” Jude Gold, Associate Editor, Guitar Player Magazine

Jamie Masefield
Jamie Masefield has established himself as on of the premier mandolin players of the new generation, both through his Jazz Mandolin Project and collaborations with members of jamband heroes Phish. Jazz Mandolin Project has released records on Blue Note, and has been a staple of the summer festivals scene for years, playing to legions of young jam band fans and fans of jazz, traditional folk and acoustic “old-time” music alike. “Mandolinist Jamie Masefield churns out incessant chords like a guitarist… The unquestioned skilled musicianship… is easy to peg.” Rolling Stone

Gary Mazzaroppi
Bassist Gary Mazzaroppi has toured and recorded with the Lionel Hampton Big Band, Les Paul, Red Norvo, Herb Ellis, Stan Getz, Joe Morello, Buddy Rich, Jim Hall, Warren Vache, Jr., Barney Kessel, Clark Terry, Charlie Byrd, Red Rodney, and Teddy Wilson. He is also a regular guest of Marian McPartland on her internationally syndicated public radio program "Piano Jazz". "Mr. Mazzaroppi has developed into a brilliantly virtuosic bass soloist." New York Times

Hey Mr. Vignola,
My name is Sean Crimmins, I've been trying to expand all of my genres and picked up a book by Mickey Baker for jazz progressions and study. I have no interest in the electric guitar, but rather the "gypsy jazz". I just wanted to know what size/thickness of a pick that you use. Thanks for any help.
Best,
Sean
by the way: awesome solo on "Limehouse Blues" for Mark O' Connor's swing trio CD
