Mamiko Kitaura, a native of Miyazaki, Japan, began playing the piano at the age of 5. She moved to the states to attend the University of the Arts in philadelphia and finished her school experience studying with Harold Danko at the Eastman School of Music, where she received both Bachelor and Master degrees in Jazz studies. She has recorded and performed with various artists such as Vinnie Colaiuta, Harold Danko, Peter Erskin, Dave Koz, David Liebman, Vince Mendoza, Toshi Nagai, Marcus Printup, Tom Scott, and Bob Sheppard.. She is a member of Meg Okura's Pan Asian Chamber Jazz Ensemble, the Brian VanArsdale Quintet, and leads her own trio with Jared Schonig and Malcolm Kirby Jr. She is also a featured pianist for Monica Mancini and has been performing with major orchestras across the united states. She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.
