FIGHT BREAST CANCER
The Big "C" stands for courage**There is no such thing as a bad hair day**Hope is just prayer in disguise**Anger is an emotion best chewed up and spit out**A positive attitude is a choice**The only thing that makes chemo bearable is humor**Some doctors and nurses really do care**Peace is a state of mind for your heart**Scars builde character**If God doesn't listen the first time - YELL!**If you don't stand up for yourself, no one else will**Cancer is God's way of telling you to prioritize**Some people will run from cancer - your true friends will stay and help you fight**Hair is really just a fashion accessory**Take care of yourself from the inside out**If people stareat you - smile**Inner strength and character are the yin and yang of life**Sometimes it is not how fast you run the race, but how high you jump the hurdles....
We are a group of women( Kathy, Jane, Lori, Cheryl, Cindy, Brenda, Sheila, Anne, Bonnie, Vera, Sharon, Furry, Sue) who promote awareness about breast cancer and a healthy lifestyle. We hold various fundraising events during the year to raise money for The Breast Cancer 3-Day,60-Mile Walk which benefits The Susan G. Komen Foundation and the National Philanthropic
Trust...........In 2005, five of us walked in Seattle, WA & raised $25,000.... Oct. of 2006 six of us traveled for The 3-Day to Tampa Bay, FLA to walk and raised $24,348.00..........August of 2007, eight of us headed to Boston for The 3-Day. Just 2 1/2 months later, six of us walked and two crewed medical in our own city of Phoenix. Our 2007 donation amount: $35,046.00. Our 3rd annual golf tournament held recently on May 31st, 2008: $28,637.00!! We will be walking in Michigan and Phoenix this year!
As a group, have volunteered at a Hospice of the Valley Golf Tournament, the Arizona 3-day Walk, and gift wrapping for the Bubel/Aiken Foundation that serves special needs children.

Hello Darling! Canoeing was a blast! TO say the least! I am a Captain for Pit Stop 5 this year in Boston, got to hear some stories about the AZ walk from those that aren't used to dry heat :-). Just got some news about a high school friend who is battling stage 4 BC that has spread to her bones, liver and lungs :-(. They are doing an amzing thing right now though, the community is building the family a nice house as her dying wish that her family would have a safe place to life if she were to leave us! Looks like they will ahve the hosue completed in 2 WEEKS! I love that this community is coming together! I will work in her honor this year! Where are you walking this year? I know you told me and I forgot already!
