Bio
Hailing from Adelaide, MAMMOTH are a 5 piece band combining bluesy Southern Rock with head-crushing metallic sounding riffs. Guitarist Josh Barohn (Suffocation/Autopsy), who relocated from New York to Adelaide with his family in 2006, began jamming with drummer Adam Groth. Soon after, with other members, the foundations of MAMMOTH were born. the band worked extensively around Adelaide in 2007, playing many shows and producing two demos. Soon after saw line up changes in the band and in 2008 MAMMOTH had secured three new members in Vocalist Pahl Hodgson (Beyond Mortal Dreams/Darklord), Guitarist Chris George (63 Stone) and Bassist Jason Moon (Double Dragon). Armed with a new line up and material, MAMMOTH took to the stage and studio once again with a string of shows and a four track demo being produced. A final line up changed followed shortly after, with the band recruiting Doug Clark (Blood Mason) to fill in on the bass duties. Throughout 2008 and 2009, Mammoth have played many shows, fast becoming known for their heavy rock/metal grooves. The band's most recent highlight, opening for veteran metallers Obituary on the Adelaide leg of their Darkest Days Australian tour. In 2010 they released their debut album 'The Calling' which received postive feedback. Plams for shows beyond the Adelaide scene are also on the horizon. In mid 2010 vocalist Pahl Hodgson left the band for personal reasons, thus they are currently looking for a replacement (enquire within). -
