A
kind of elephant, of big dimensions, from the quaternary times, that was found,
above all, in Siberia.
So, the Mamute is a stoner doom band from Santos. Formed by João Zara (drums)
and Gabriel Ardanuy (vocals/guitar) with the idea of making a bit more experimental
sound than they did in their past band (ComeShot), wich was a more direct and
crude rock and roll. The Mamute is heavier, slower, and discording than the
old band. A mix maybe between Alice In Chains, Monster Magnet, Motörhead,
Trouble, Neurosis and D.R.I., for more strange that it looks like. Each song
have a different taste of influences from what each one listen in the band.
The members have other bands (death metal, folk rock, hardcore and eletronica). The Mamute is kind
of the result of what we don´t use in our other bands. Even though we
play in more extreme bands, we all have the taste for classic rock.
the mamute is now: Gabriel Ardanuy (amaldiçoados, guitar/vocals), Luiz Henrique(desecration, drums), André Martins (ex- vulcano, garage fuzz, repulsão explícita, psychic possessor, bass) and Rodney (social resistência, guitar). Since Marcos left the band to travel around Brazil we are looking for a bass player!
After a while we found a great bass player called André Martins (ex- Vulcano, Repulsão Explícita, Garage Fuzz). He played at a gig with us and left the band. After that Luiz also decided to leave the band because of financial and health problems too. Feeling that this might be the end of the band. Gabriel decided this was the right time to stop with Mamute and dedicate only to his solo project. But Luis change his mind and decide that he still wants to play with Mamute and Gabriel agrees to continue, but only rehearsing when we have a gig dated.

de elefante fóssil, de grandes dimensões, da época quaternária,
que se encontrava, sobretudo, na Sibéria. Enfim, o Mamute é uma
banda Santista de Stoner Rock. Formada por João Zara (Bateria) e Gabriel Ardanuy (guitar/Voz)
com idéia de fazer um som um pouco mais experimental do que o de sua
ex-banda (ComeShot), que era um rock´n roll mais reto e cru. O mamute
é mais pesado, lento, e discordante do que a antiga banda. Uma mistura
talvez de Alice in Chains, Monster Magnet, Motorhead, Trouble, Neurosis e D.R.I.,
por mais estranho que isso possa parecer. Cada música tem uma pitada
diferente das influências que cada um da banda ouve. Os integrantes tem
outras bandas paralelas ao Mamute, bandas de death metal, folk rock, hardcore e música eletrônica.
O Mamute é meio que o resultado das demais influências que não
usamos nas nossas outras bandas. Pois mesmo tocando em bandas mais extremas,
todos da banda tem em comum o gosto pelo classic rock.
o mamute agora é: Gabriel Ardanuy(amaldiçoados, guitarra/vocal), Luiz Henrique (desecration, bateria), André Martins (ex- vulcano, garage fuzz, repulsão explícita, psychic possessor, baixo) e Rodney (social resistência, guitarra). Desde que o Marcos deixou a banda para viajar, nós estamos procurando por um baixista.
Depois de um tempo, nós achamos um ótimo baixista chamado André Martins (ex- Vulcano, Repulsão Explícita, Garage Fuzz). Nós tocamos em um show com ele e depois ele deixou a banda. Em seguida, Luiz também decidiu deixar a banda por problemas financeiros e de saúde. Sentindo que este poderia ser o fim da banda, Gabriel decidiu que este era o momento certo para parar com o Mamute e se dedicar somente ao seu projeto solo. No entanto, Luis decidi que quer continuar tocando no Mamute e Gabriel concorda em continuar, porém somente ensaiando quando tivermos show marcado.
