Matt and Monkey return.... or do they? With Matt out of action with a sore throat, MiM Radio's Rockin' John Cron proves what a team player he is and takes over the reading of the... er... adlibs. And what an amazing job he does! This is unmissable radio at its very, very best!
We packed so much into the show, we've had to upload it in 2 parts. You can listen in and download on this link:

CD REVIEWS All The King's Men The Late Arrivals - comming soon
Taking the title of this, their long awaited debut album, from one of their songs (south of the city) we are introduced to the no frills, take us as you find us world of All The Kings Men.
Their live performances are creating just as much of a buzz in their beloved city of Manchester as you are ever likely to find in any dirty pub and bouncing room from the famous Dublin Castle, Camden to The Ritz in Manchester via Rockland in Sala, Sweden…. so does the album match expectation?
In a word yes! It really does what it says on the tin.
I could go on about how this is an album of songs that cross countries, cultures and time while teasing the intellect with stories as diverse as the Swedish equivalent of the Kray twins empire, Guy Fawkes and the good ol’ Greater Manchester Police Authority, but do you really want to know that ….. ? I reckon you’d rather know how you can smell the beer on every breath and peel your feet from the sticky floor as you bounce from song to song on this wonderful assault on your senses.
Enjoy the seat of yer pants guitar riffs, intense tribal drumming and a lead bass that not only holds the rhythm in place but is integral to the melody, all held together by a believable and passionate vocal. Honest songs that touch the soul of the ordinary man (or woman) on the street in a most extraordinary way.
None of these songs are skippers, but look out for the fast paced Death By Misadventure followed by The Last English Rose, ska at its best. Off With His Head with its complex rhythm changes and tales of Guy Fawkes is a most unlikely combo that is pure genius.
The Salaligan is a personal favourite with its heavier style, thumping drums, prominent bass line and menacing guitar – great stuff!
The penultimate track, Stockholm is a head banging mosh song if ever I heard one with an on the edge vocal and pretty shifty riffs and appropriately the album closes with the anthemic Leaving You For Manchester … it doesn’t get much better than that.
Every band has influences but the mark of a great band is not to sound like them. With this album you don’t hear the influences as much as feel them as ATKM open a six-pack of musical styles from hard edged punk to infectious ska with reggae overtones, a perfectly balanced album in its construction and production, every song delivers.
So just sit back and enjoy the sheer unadulterated, uncluttered, unpretentious balls to the wind songs that’ll have you reaching for your pint like a true Brit.
